Technology in service of the Quran
Quran.Foundation is a nonprofit building digital tools that help people read, listen to, study, and reflect on the Quran. Its platforms include Quran.com and QuranReflect, alongside resources for developers building Quran-related applications.
This role forms part of my work on tools for accessing Islamic knowledge, from QuranJS to research platforms. The foundation's website offers an overview of its mission and the products its teams maintain.
Multilingual link previews
A related Quran.com project, dated January 2023, generates Open Graph images dynamically using Next.js and Satori. These images give a shared link a visual preview.
The generator supports multiple languages and can create an image for a particular surah, with an optional verse. Instead of using one generic preview for every link, it can reflect the content being shared.
The public repository documents the image endpoints and their parameters.
